Introducing New Executive Director – Mr Gibons A. Mwabukusi

The Foundation for Artisanal and Small-scale Development (FADev) is proud to welcome Mr. Gibons Mwabukusi as its newly appointed Executive Director. A seasoned leader in finance, administration, and development management, Gibons brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to empowering communities across Tanzania.

With a distinguished career defined by integrity, innovation, and inclusive leadership, Gibons has worked extensively with civil society organizations, multi-stakeholder coalitions, and international partners to advance social and economic transformation. His strategic vision and practical expertise will be instrumental in driving FADev’s mission to promote responsible, inclusive, and sustainable Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM), with a strong focus on empowering women and youth.

Under his leadership, FADev will scale its efforts to formalize ASM operations, promote environmental responsibility, and deepen partnerships with government, private sector, and development actors. Gibons’ appointment marks a pivotal moment in FADev’s growth as a trusted platform for dialogue, advocacy, and sustainable solutions in Tanzania’s extractive sector.
